"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" model cars

The CORGI model

Regarded as the most beautiful CORGI model ever produced, the Corgi CHITTY was highly detailed with jewelled headlamps, removable figures and flip-out wings.

This model remained popular even after production of it ceased in 1973 with collectors paying high prices.

In 1992, CORGI announced a limited re-release of the model. Almost identical to the original but manufactured in China this time instead of Great Britain.
Another less detailed mass-produced version was launched by CORGI in 1998 and is currently for sale on this website

The CORGI JUNIOR/HUSKY model

A match-box sized model with figures and pull out wings

The MATTEL model

This was similar in scale to the Corgi model, but lighter weight. It included an inflatable float.

The AURORA model kit

Another JAPANESE manufactured model kit was also produced. It was extraordinarily detailed, had flip-out wings and was motorised.
When built it was approx 12 inches long.
